Budge

This new service called Budge sounds interesting and handy. Need help remembering to floss? To drink more water? To get up and walk around? Budge can help. Looks like you can customize how many reminders you get and you can even turn on a super-intense “nag mode.” Love, Nik

Snapguide

This app called Snapguide seems like a brilliant way to share all of these delicious recipes you girls whip up! (And/or the genius DIY projects you have up your sleeve, too.)

The premise sounds super simple: you use the free app to document any step-by-step process in a series of photos, videos and short captions. Once your guide is complete it’s posted on the Snapguide website, where you can tweet/share/pin/tumble your work. Cool!

Right now it looks like it’s only available for iOS but I’d bet that they have something for Android in the works. Love, Nik

I got the original Jambox speaker last year and love it. I am super tempted to get their new Big Jambox. It’d be perfect for beach getaways and/or bonfires and BBQS, I’m thinking!

Now, which color to get… Love, Nik

Pinstagram

What would happen if Pinterest and Instagram had a baby? Well, two guys from Silicon Valley found out and made Pinstagram. It’s another way to enjoy your Instagram feed on the web - check it out! Love, Nik

2012 Reasons Why the Internet is Awesome

If you have some time to kill and/or are looking for something to do online check out this extensive list of “2012 Reasons Why the Internet Is Awesome.” Some definite gems in there. Love, Nik

Well ladies, I figured we could play a little game called “I Spy.” So, last week we finally launched what my company has been working on for months and months - hurray!

Long story short, we rebranded our company Read It Later to the all-new Pocket. New identity, new interface + trying to appeal to a new target audience. Well, with this launch I had to create a bunch of marketing materials, ie: the promo video above, the new website, misc. infographics/decks such as this one and screenshots for iTunes, etc.

If you have some spare time I’d challenge you to take a peek at some of the screenshots of the app found in the images above. I have a feeling you’d recognize a number of the items (articles/videos) found within the lists from our very own LWS ladies! Gotta represent! ;)

Love, Nik

Stitch Fix

I think I had mentioned The Trunk Club on LWS before, which is a service for men where they can choose their style of clothing and get a bunch of different clothes and accessories delivered to try on and purchase if they like.

Well, we just met one of the new tenants in our office building who started Stitch Fix, and they are a similar service, but for women! I do love an excuse to go shopping in person, but this would be kind of like having a personal stylist. It’s tempting to give it a whirl! Love, Nik

Jeans or Shorts?

Everyone has this dilemma occasionally: is it jeans or shorts weather out there today? This site can detect what the temperature is where you are and gives you the verdict. The only question is, when is it ‘jorts’ weather…? Love, Nik

Instagram for Android

Here you go, ladies! Sign up to be notified when the Android app is available. Love, Nik

Postable

Is your address book out of date? I just heard about the site Postable that is being touted as the easiest way to get people’s mailing addresses.

You get a secure link that you can email to your friends and family. They update their info and your address book fills up with hardly any effort. Sounds like it could be handy! I do love to send snail mail… Love, Nik

PaperKarma

Do you guys get stacks and stacks of catalogs that you just promptly throw into the recycling bin? I do and it drives me nuts!

Well, I just heard about this app called PaperKarma (for iPhone, Android AND Windows Phone) that allows you to unsubscribe from all forms of junk mail by simply taking a photo of it! I’m definitely going to have to give this a whirl. Love, Nik

Instagram Says Its Android App Is Nearly Here

Good news for you Android users! Instagram announced at SXSW that their Android app is almost ready. Hang tight! Love, Nik

Is It Old?

This site is pure genius. How often have you gotten an email from someone with links to a video you saw… 137 times… years ago? Well, before you go out sending a link that’s ancient you can throw it into “Is It Old?” and see if it’s old news or not.

If it is past its prime, you’ll get a harsh but honest message like the one above. Hah! Love it. Love, Nik

Tophatter

One of my co-workers told me about this new-to-me site, Tophatter, and it sounds interesting! It is a live-action auction website for selling handmade or vintage goods. So, sort of like the Etsy experience, but with the feel of a live auction.

I’m not sure if I have the stomach for quick bidding while I do my online shopping (I normally like to pin things, mull over ‘em for days and then order one of every color to try on as long as there is free shipping/returns, hah!) but it sounds interesting and I’m sure you could snag some cool stuff! Love, Nik

Fancy

Have you guys heard of the site Fancy? Described as a Pinterest competitor and backed by some legit supporters like Kanye and Jack Dorsey (the founder of Twitter/Square), it’s making some waves.

Like Pinterest, you can like/post (ie: “fancy”) images/items, but Fancy adds the extra element of commerce by allowing you to purchase posted products directly on the site. Interesting. I’m not sure I’ll be jumping ship anytime soon, but this may be worth checking out. Love, Nik
