London-based illustrator Kate Wilson has some cute and quirky illustrations on her blog, little doodles. This peplum piece filed under “strange fashion” made me laugh and I think a “what’s in my bag” display is much more fun when it’s illustrated. Check out her blog for more whimsical doodles. Love, Nik
Curious what it’s like to run a startup? This tumblr pretty much sums it up in a series of animated funny gifs. Hah!

I randomly stumbled across this quiz on a blog and thought, what the heck, I’d take it. What is your “Spirit Animal,” ladies?
Apparently I’m a Bear. Hmm…
Powers: Fighting ability—strength and speed—along with powers of strategic thinking
You’re #1! At least, you’re happiest when in charge. You lead with courage, integrity, and compassion. People gravitate to your confidence and charisma, and they feel safe in your care. But be careful not to believe your own hype—stubborn pride is every Bear’s downfall.
Ahhh quizzes. Love, Nik
I haven’t watched a live SNL in ages (despite what my recent posts may suggest) but I do watch some recaps online every once in a while. This past weekend packed a punch with Lazy Sunday 2 (love that throwback!) and I think I reached a new low when I totally cried along with Kristin Wiig during her SNL send-off. (What can I say, I can’t help myself when people are crying for real! Instant waterworks.)
It hasn’t been confirmed that Andy Samberg is gone for good, but rumors have it that, like Kristin, he won’t be on SNL anymore. If so, I’m going to miss those digital shorts! Some of them are pure gold. Love, Nik
SNL’s 100th Digital Short. Have you ladies seen this? The celebratory digital short packs a punch with tons of cameos and the requisite raunch. I especially love Samberg, JT, Natalie and Micheal Bolton, hah! Love, Nik
This “Everything’s Amazing & Nobodys Happy” Louis CK interview on Conan is an oldie but a goodie. It came up in conversation again lately and I just had to share in case you haven’t seen it. Love, Nik
Hah! What it will look like when men ‘ruin’ Pinterest, according to Happy Place. Probably not far off, eh? Love, Nik
I don’t think that “To be or not to be?” is really the lingering question these days. I’m pretty sure it is: “Should I Check E-Mail?” Love, Nik
I love this list of “Honest Pinterest Boards” from the New Yorker. Let’s see, some of mine should honestly probably be renamed as follows:
Et cetera, et cetera. Hah! Love, Nik
Like the blogger of You Are My Fave, I’m a big fan of making lists and I especially enjoyed her post on weekly lists. Whereas hers was of things she refrained from buying at Target (the willpower!) mine would have been, “Things I Absolutely Didn’t Need From Target, But Bought Anyway.” Love, Nik
Children of the ’90s, here’s a little blast from the past to jump-start your Thursday AM. Love, Nik
Woah, ladies, this is serious. Turns out there are a bunch of women who don’t like Ryan Gosling. Whaaaaa? Love, Nik
Well, it’s April Fool’s Day. (AKA: the day I should learn to just stay off the internet?) Pranks are rampant online and this year is no different. Google introduced their 8-Bit Maps and two-button keyboard, Richard Branson announced trips to the center of volcanoes on Virgin Volcanic, Better World Books introduced “hands-free books” and Think Geek created an electronic hungry hungry hippos for iPad. (I thought AI could totally have used that with her kiddos!)
Warby Parker even joined in this year with hip frames for your pooch, ie: “Warby Barker.” I’m thinking the pups of LWS ladies would look pretty dashing in a pair of these, eh? Hah!
Have you seen any other ridiculous/funny April Fool’s stories today? Love, Nik
