A friend of ours had this album of jazzy Michael Jackson covers playing at his BBQ yesterday. Given my randomly unwavering love for MJ (and finding more ‘chill’ tunes to put on while in serious work-mode) I was instantly hooked.

I’m all teary watching a segment about this group on the Today Show. A woman whose husband died serving in Afghanistan started this group that gathers other widows of soliders together to restore their hope and love of life. They travel together, go sky diving, learn to surf all of these “Mighty Life”-type of activities in the name of healing and remembering the spirits of their spouses. 

Today I’m remembering not only the sacrifice of our service men and women but also that of their families and loved ones. -LP
